You Reap What You Sow

Jan 4, 2026    Dylan Frercks

This message kicks off a new year by tackling the popular phrase “you reap what you sow,” showing that it isn’t just a cultural saying—Scripture confirms it as spiritual reality. Using Galatians 6:7–9, the sermon teaches that every choice, habit, investment of time, and direction of the heart produces some kind of harvest in our lives. We can sow toward our own desires and end up empty, or we can sow toward the Spirit and experience life, purpose, and lasting change. Instead of making vague resolutions like “I want to get closer to God,” we’re invited to intentionally plant daily practices—reading Scripture, serving, connecting with others, and trusting God—so that He grows something meaningful in us. The new year becomes less about fixing ourselves and more about faithfully investing in a growing relationship with Him.
