Growing Up

Oct 12, 2025    Matt Santen

This message from Hebrews 5 and 6 challenges believers to move beyond spiritual laziness and pursue genuine growth in their relationship with God. Using the image of believers still drinking milk instead of eating solid food, the passage calls us to take ownership of our faith—to grow in obedience, not just knowledge. Maturity in Christ isn’t about how much we know, but how we live out what we know: discerning right from wrong, serving others in love, and persevering in faith. God desires that we grow stronger and more steadfast, leaving behind complacency to become imitators of those who live with faith and patience. It’s an honest wake-up call for anyone who’s felt spiritually sluggish—a reminder that spiritual growth is both expected and possible when we keep drawing near to Jesus.
